Review: Lush Shampoo Bar in Lullaby

When I first got the shampoo bar from Lush I thought that it could only go two ways: I would hate it and it wouldn’t be good for my hair or I will love it.

Lullaby Luckily it fell in to the latter category I love this shampoo bar so much. I got it mainly because I wanted something to travel with that is small and compact to use; so this would be perfect for that.

I got the Lullaby bar because it sounded like a nice normal bar to start off with. It wasn’t one that claimed to do anything special only that it would help sooth the scalp and help with sleep because of the lavender.

The bar has a mix of camomile, lavender, oat milk and organic jojoba oil; the overall smell is lavender when you put it on your hair. The smell does linger for a few hours but not really for any great amount of time after.
Lullaby
So first impressions was that I didn’t like it if I am going to be honest. What happens is the outside layer is very hard making it quite difficult for it to lather up properly. It did take me a while to get enough product to lather up my whole hair.

The second use I did sort of have the same problem however on the third and remaining times I did find that it did lather up to how I want it. Using it is really simple lather it up in your hand like soap and then massage it in to your hair. I do like for the ends to put the product directly on to my hair to make sure that the ends are nice and clean.

The effects of the shampoo bar I would describe as clarifying just because it really does tooughroully clean your hair and leaves no trace of product on your hair. Because of this if you have very dry hair I would not recommend this because it might be Lullabyslightly too drying and could make dry hair look very dull and tired.

Normal or greasy hair I think this would be better for as it cleans the hair out really well. I have somewhere between normal and greasy and I think it made my hair feel very clean and healthy.

In terms of looks it didn’t make my hair particularly shiny or healthier it just made it feel much cleaner. I would say that you need to use extra conditioner or product if you are to use this every day; my hair is a bit flat without anything else in it.

I would recommend that you get the tin that goes with it to make sure that it dries out properly.

Overall I would recommend this shampoo bar to those with a greasier hair type but for me I think I would have to have something that is more hydrating. I will try out other lush shampoo bars as well as I think they have a lot of potential.

I love Spring Tag

IMG_0438

1. Favourite spring nail polish?

I love lighter shades during the spring time; not really bright shades and more pastel colours. I tend to go for light blues, purples, light pinks and nude tones. Notable favourites are the Barry M speed dry in Lap of honour; this is a great dusty lilic colour. Also Maybelline Show Colour in Marshmallow which is a nice pearl white with light shimmer.

2. What is your must-have lip color this spring?

I love brighter lips in Spring and that would be either a bight red or a bright pink. I don’t wear dark or purple shades during spring summer so it is mainly anything that has a light bright undertone to it. I love Elizabeth Arden’s lipsick in Red Door Red as it is a really light and bright red shade that works really great for Spring.

3. What is your favorite spring dress?

I have a few and they are mainly white or nude and tend to have a lot of lace. I like not having dark colours and especially knitwear during spring as it reminds me too much of winter.

4. What’s your favorite flower?

I love daffodils and snow drops. I always think it to be spring whenever I see them. I also love cherry blossom as that is always the first sign that spring is here.

5. Favorite spring scarf/accessory?

In terms of accessories I tend to wear light scarves. I have a great one from Forever 21 that is really thin and has a multicoloured graphic design on it. I will also have any excuse to wear sun glasses so they are always on… even when English weather is being normal and there is no sun at all.

6. What spring trend(s) are you most excited about this year?

I always love the floral trend. I know it is a cliche but it works for nearly everyone and it is a classic. I love how it can be worn either as a very casual day look but also night time as well. I love flowers and wearing them just makes the day look that tiny bit nicer.

7. Favorite spring candle?

Because I live in a rented house I am not allowed candles however in my shop I work part time at we see loads of candles. I love Lily Flame and their candles are so amazing. Their honeysuckle smells just like the plant and their fresh cut grass candle is incredible as it smells like freshly cut grass. Lily Flame are great at being able to bottle exact smells without that horrible wax smell interfering.

8. Favorite body spray/perfume for spring?

I never wear perfumes or body sprays but what I do love to do is grind fresh lavender on my wrists as it gives a great fresh smell. I have a large bush in my garden and I love to do that.

9. What is spring like where you live?

In England it is sunny with a few colder days. It changes schizophrenically between warm and sunny and then cold and rainy. I live in the city now but when I was younger I lived in the country and when I was there I could always tell it was bring by wild flowers and lambs in the fields.

10. What’s your favorite thing about spring?

I love the longer days. I can get so much more done during the spring time compared to winter as I have a lot more light.

11. Are you a spring cleaner?

Yes, I hopefully will be doing some videos about this. I especially have to do a big spring clean this year as I am moving out of my house when I leave uni and I can’t be taking home a load of junk. I love spring cleaning as it gives you a really good fresh start to the entire year!

That’s it for this tag; I invite everyone to do this tag as it was super fun!

My Iced Latte Recipe

A cup of ice

(optional) Simple syrup of any flavour

Dissolve the coffee in the boiling water in a glass. Fill the glass just to the top with milk then add in the ice cubes. Add syrup to taste, stir and enjoy!

(p.s. I almost feel like I am cheering with this post but it is so simple it doesn’t need a long explanation.)
