Work Wear: Style up Purple Jeggings Part 2

I love purple jeggings as they are so different and can be styled up in so many different ways. This is even the second look that I have created using these leggings from Dorothy Perkins also all pieces are taken from DP as well. The first look you can see here.

So this piece uses the contest between a quite cute and fun shirt and mixing up that young shirt with more mature accessories such as the Mary Jane your shoes and the bag.

Mixing up the classically mature style and adding a twist of young personality is great for a work or formal look as it brings out your characteristics and personality but still being professional at the same time.

Oasis Purple Lace Party Outfit

So we are in the middle of the party season however not all the way out of it yet so today I give you a practical OOTD that uses all Oasis pieces.

Starting off with the dress as it has a simple cut to the dress with very little bling and the dress main pieces are in the lace pattern. I love the detail in the dress how even the seams are made to be a statement for the dress.

The cardigan is simple and has a waterfall effect and this counters the tight fitting nature of the dress. If this was to a party the cardigan will be taken off but you need something to throw on.

The rest of the accessories are very classic with a simple gold and silver clutch bag and heals. The necklace I would add if you want the outfit to be a little bit more fun however it would look great without any jewellery as well.

New Look Party Wear

I am going to start a new series of fashion collages around a subject and a particular brand and really dive in to the different pieces that a store is making. So I am going to start with my favourite brand: New Look.

This collage is all about the different part wear pieces that I would buy in preparation for the party season. So to start off with the dresses I have chosen. The white dress with black lace and the blue dress would both be perfect for a formal Christmas event or a wedding. They are both classic and very elegant.

The gold dress I would wear for a night out or for New Years as it is very comfy as it is a bodycon dress but looks very elegant. The purple dress I would wear for a work party or dinner out with some friends.

The purple top I would wear with some skinny jeans and this would be for a day party or going shopping for Christmas things.

The accessories that I have chosen is the dark blue box clutch that would go with all pieces here. The shoes I have chosen are first the gold shoes that would bring an extra bit of glamour to any outfit. And then the black bow court shoes as it is a modern and young twist on a classic.

That’s it for this little selection. Hope you guys liked it.

Work Wear: Style up Purple Jeggings

So this is another one of my work wear looks. I love this one because it is very formal but edgy as well. The necklace and the shoes with the bead detail really gives this a whole new modern edge. I think that this could be made more formal with a smaller necklace and court shoes but I think that the look as it is works for a 20-something with an office job.

All the pieces are from Dorothy Perkins and can I just take a second to say how much I love their leggings. I have about three pairs in all different colours and they are just so easy to wear as they are soft and flexible but also look smart.

Modern Biker Chick

So this look is to create the classic bicker chick style with some more modern pieces. I incorporated a red skirt with the black jacket to add some colour to the look.

I really love the heels with this look as adding a pair of court shoes makes the look more classic. The platform and the hight however gives it a sexy edge to the entire look.

Mint Playsuit

This look I am keeping very simple as to not distract the attention from the play suit. Wearing mint can be very difficult as it is a unusual colour to wear. I’m not sure why it is unusual as it is an amazing colour for anyone.

This Look is all about keeping focus on the mint colour. The jacket is lace as when worn the mint colour shows through the holes in the lace, the necklace is a statement piece but also metallic so will reflect the mint shades of the playsuit. And finally the shoes are simple as to not attract attention from the main piece.

Oasis Flower Print Skirt

So this is is something that I love doing; taking a small pop of colour in a large design and making it the main colour in the outfit. In the skirt there are bright pink flowers and I have highlighted this by using a pink top.

Using nude accessories tones down this look as very bright solid colours can look immature but with a cardigan and simple shoes and a necklace can make this look perfect for the office or a lunch date with your girl friends.

Work Wear: Accessorise Monochrome with Rose Gold

So monocrome can get a tiny bit boring. Not saying black and white isn’t classic but mixing up a little colour can really make the look more modern and interesting.

Rose gold is a great colour for anyone to wear as it suits everyone. This look can honestly be worn by anyone.

All pieces re from New Look and are currently available, list below.

Three outfits, one dress – Blush pencil dress

1 Dress, 3 Looks - blush dress

So the first look is a slightly edgy rock look. This contrasts the pink, lace dress with statement pieces like the necklace and the black leather jacket. The court shoes are made of lace and bring the look together. I would recommend this look for an evening out with the girls.

This next look is more a formal look or for a smart office look. Keeping the colour palette neutral makes a very sophisticated look. Adding a belt to a dress can completely change the look of a dress and matching all accessories together keeps everything incorporated.

The final look turns the formal dress in to something more suited to smart casual. Matching a smart dress with smart flip flops is an easy way to dress down a look. Lots of accessories can look a bit too over whelming however small stackable bracelets is a good way to add a little sparkle. A simple headband is a great way to add a little more interest in to an outfit.

Smart Casual Shorts

Smart Casual Shorts

So I think that this is a great look for SS for those smart casual occasions be it at work, for cocktails or a lunch date with your best girlfriends.

I love the colour contrast between the coral, orange shades and the blue blazer. The smart shorts and blazer also contrast the t-shirt and the wedge sandals. When making a smart casual look it is easiest to mix smart pieces with casual.

The jewellery makes the look more feminine and ties all the pieces together as the ring and t-shirt are similar in colour.

Makeup suggestions for this look would be a classic, blue, cat-eye or a simple wash of a light  pink gold shade and a nude lip. Try to match the colour of the makeup with the outfit as this also helps tie together the whole look.
